A couple of images dragged off the net......if i can get the look and feel of the family as these will probably be the only character/models you will see in the animation......maybe the boy who is bitten at the end btu besides him the rest will be hands and feet within the shot.

Meat the Jones's was originally an idea i set about writing whilst i was on MA Film.  A short piece about zombies in our neighbourhood "trying" to live as normal a life as possible.  Its a black comedy with slight political undertones regarding imagrant issues that are a constant.

Treatment

 

Wales Tonight 6.00pm. Pressure from the worlds leading Politicians and humanitarian groups has seen the Supreme Court placing a worldwide protection order on zombies and the mass re-establishment for them to be placed back into the community. For the past 4 years the dead have been mysteriously coming back to life and even begun to outnumber the elderly. Scientists have never been able to explain why this is happening. And even after there hasn’t been a reported attack on the human population for over 2 years Vigilante groups have still been killing indiscriminately. 

 

A government funded group Dead But Not Alone, based in Newport South Wales, run by the overbearing Tracy Williams (42) is one of the first to be set up in the UK. Tracy has the job of assessing the zombies decomposing situation and aggressive nature towards the living and then placing them into the right location in order to continue as normal a dead life as possible.

 

After a fatal car crash the Jones family of 3 (dad 40, mum 39 and daughter 16) join the ever-growing number of the undead. Placed into the care of Tracey at Dead But Not Alone the Jones’s are moved into a small council estate in Newport to begin their new (dead) life. But the local community and action groups are not happy and begin to show signs of discontent. Windows are smashed, warning letters through the door, rubbish thrown over the garden and painted slogans in a bid to uproot the unwelcome tenants.  In order to win them over the Jones’s decide to throw a Christmas party for the neighbours in the hope that it might show them they are not out for their flesh!

 

The evening of the party and the guests reluctantly begin to arrive. The bizarre and awkward night begins. Christmas hats, crappy food and balloons bounce across the empty floor space as the neighbours silently sit around the living room. Mr and Mrs Jones shuffle back and forth attempting to host food and drink.

 

The daughter although dead has still retained some of her looks, she strays from her family and is lured away by a son (15) of one of the families. As the boy begins to pull her away she becomes aggressive and attempts to move away. The young boy becomes extremely violent and slams her into a dark passageway. As he moves into hit her she lunges forward and bites him on the hand. Stunned the boy grabs a brick and blasts it into her face pushing in her mouth and nose. He doesn’t stop.

 

As the guests start to walk out the attention shifts to the disappearance of the Jones’s daughter and the young boy. As the crowd moves outside the young boy stumbles from the alleyway covered in blood. Mr Jones pushes through the crowd into the mouth of the alleyway. There on the floor is his daughter bludgeoned to death. As the crowd gather around him he shifts his attention to them.

So whats been going on??? not a lot really.....ive been going through one of my normal doubting head moments and alongside far too much college work (my crappy job) I am a little stuck. Why am i so stuck........well do i stick with the WW2 idea or do i change???? i want to blast out my zombie family idea cus i think this will work so much better for me....the characters the whole look and it shud be a lot easier to create and film. i love the idea of the family, a retro feel in modern times, the idea of being a simple as possible to create massive effect......so much more in this idea than that of the ww2 idea.......this is the process....and this is how i work.

another quick test......im starting to look at light now. this is something i need to slow down with and take more time to plan and work out.

Keeping up a blog is harder than  i expected. Its always on my mind but the transition from a sketchbook to using this onlineness is pretty darn difficult. Its easy to do but hard to remember.

Again im trying to immerse myself into this style........so i need more test pieces. GET ON WITH IT...!!!!!
