Meat the Jones's 1st draft script
Meat the Jones’s
Script

Int: Blurred TV screen
The tinny distant sound of music followed by the voice of a newsreader conversing with an outside reporter discussing the following story.

Newsreader:  New reports of the ongoing problems with the undead have arisen in the form of a government plan to reintroduce them back into the community. John Wilcoxs is outside Newport council building where local official Chris Saunders is about to release more information to the press.

Ext: Various outdoor locations
The newsreaders voice trails off as images of council offices and buildings loom in the distant skyline, people walk in the streets going about their business and housing estate unaware of the change.

Government official: This new law heralds a new dawn and a fresh start for the undead. We have come to realise that they are us WE are them and that is why we are placing the back where they belong. Help centres across the UK are being set up in order to manage with this task at hand and be safe in the knowledge that no human attack has occurred for over 10 years and no attack will ever happen. It’s time to make a change. That time is now.

Int: waiting room of DBNA
Inside a small waiting room images of magazines, chairs and receptionists staring and looking nervous. An odd ping designates to whoever is waiting next.
A loud almost unbearable voice welcomes in the small family of three. Shuffling sounds stop and the voice continues.

Tracy Williams: Hello welcome welcome come in please. And you are the Jones’s is that right?

Int: Dead but not alone office
Around the brilliant white room are framed photos of Tracy on her own, with a pet or on some holiday location. Her hand taps a pen as she presses and depresses the end. Her foot taps equally as annoying as the pen as light floods in from the window.

Tracy Williams: Ok then Jones’s I notice you passed away just 2 weeks ago in a fatal car crash.

Ext: Crash scene
Images are shown of the accident as if a member of the Jones family is somehow recounting the event.

Tracy Williams: Very nasty indeed. So I’ve been looking for somewhere for you to live and I think I have somewhere just right.

Int: Under desk in office
Out of focus images of twisted hands and legs under the table slowly shift about as Tracy Williams continues to talk.

Tracy Williams: Ok then if you want to follow security they will take you in their van to your new abode and I will see you there soon. Good luck.

Int: Security van
Taken on a journey inside the dark uninviting interior of the security van. The bright light ploughs through the front window as two large figures move about. The small back windows have mesh for safety.

Int: Jones’s new house
The family portrait shows a different time a happier more alive time. The rooms are sparse and basic with classic magnolia walls.

Tracy Williams:  Ok then Mr and Mrs Jones Oh sorry and Miss Jones welcome to your new home. Hope you like it? As you can see its your standard set-up with nothing to get in your way. So err hope you like it and I will be dropping by from time to time to see how you are all getting along. You’re quite lucky because you’re the first family I’ve dealt with so far and I have to admit this is the best house and location out there.

Ext: Outside the house and surrounding area
We finish with a series of images depicting the area the Jones family have moved into and how far from the truth Tracy Williams comment actually is. Images of run down buildings with anti zombie slogans.

After discussing my work with my tutor im finally sorted....although ive now only got 3 weeks to complete a 1-2 min short animation. This is not a problem it just caught me out (pays to read handouts). So where are we........????

Basically ive just completed the 1st draft of the script, which i have only taken up to halfway from the original idea (that will come in full version september) and put a wanted ad on Casting Call Pro for voice actors.....already got about 5 replies...and i only put it on 20mins ago.....

now i want to take a few days to do some test shots around the house of various objects, ornaments, legs, feet and hands....also the above photo needs framing as they are the jones's before the terrible accident.....and also i need to work out how to get images of a car accident site.

The office, inside of van and waiting area shouldnt be a problem.....waiting room i could go to a doctors and ask nicely....the inside of the van and office i could go to....well basically go to an office. or ask about in my college..im sure there are plently of opportunities there..

so i just need to crack on.......oh and storyboard
